wittysister1901By now you might understand how much I love art! Art is one of my favorite things to do, especially when I’m bored, but finding good supplies can be a STRUGGLE!! I decided to help you all out by creating this list of art supplies that I SWEAR by!! (Bonus: They’re all under $20!! )
- Hand Lettering Kit – $14
Rating: 8/10
I LOVE these!!! Although they are made for hand lettering and calligraphy, this makes an amazing sketching kit. It comes with pencils, a kneaded eraser, and a bunch of markers. I mainly use these for outlining, but there are tons of uses for this kit!
- Watercolors – $9
Rating: 9/10
These are always classified as cheap watercolors, but I’ve found that these work really well. I’ve had one of these kits for years, and bought more expensive ones that ran out of paint earlier than this one did, with the same amount of usage. This kit also comes with a brush, but it isn’t the best quality.
- Brushes -$5!!!

This is the best deal I have found in a really long time. Although they aren’t the BEST quality, they are all I need. The hairs don’t fall out, there’s a brush for every type of paint job, and they last for a really long time! I’ve even stolen a couple to paint my nails with! 😉
- 72 Colored pencils- $24

Okay, okay, okay…I know this is out of the price range I told you guys, but this product deserves to be on this list!! 72 colored pencils!!!!! I was originally looking for the Prismacolor brand, but I found them to be WAYYYY too expensive. I think these are just as good, for a cheaper price.
- Acrylic Paint Set 24 Colors -$20
Rating: 8/10
Love them! They are really opaque and you don’t have to do multiple coats to get good coverage. There’s also a really wide variety of colors…The only reason I take off points is because I would like there to be a little more, but to be fair, they do have options where you can buy a set with more paint in it, but obviously, the price would also go up.

This stuff is a life saver!!! I don’t have to use gesso, because I just use this! It has really good coverage, so it’s great to prep canvases or use in paintings. A little life hack would be to mix this with mod podge to thin it out, that way you get a smoother finish.
- Mod Podge

Mod Podge is an amazing product!! I like to add it to paint to double the quantity and make the paint thinner. This is a great way to prime a surface, give a top coat, or even use as a glue. I find myself using this EVERY DAY
